Near the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge, despite the cloud coverage residents started coming down and setting up chairs or sitting in the back of their vehicles to see the eclipse.

At the northern end of Irondequoit Bay in Irondequoit, residents began setting up on the beach along Lake Ontario looking south towards the sun.

In downtown Rochester on Parcel 5, a half dozen residents showed up mid morning to claim their spots.

At the bridge, a silence fell as the eclipse took over and darkness came down.
